What we do

The Upper Eden Community First Responders Team is a group of volunteers who give their time to help save lives in their community. First Responders are ordinary members of the public who are trained in the treatment and control of a wide range of potentially life threatening conditions.

When someone has a heart attack early intervention has been shown to bring a significant improvement in their chances of survival and recovery. First Responders attend 999 calls, providing the earliest possible intervention for patients in those crucial minutes before the arrival of the ambulance. The team is equipped with life saving equipment, including defibrillators and oxygen. Find out more about what the team does and what volunteering involves.
